I attended Redwood City schools from Kindergarten on to High School, But, also attended a Christian High School, King's Garden in Seattle, my Sophmore and Senior years, so am not a "legimate" alumni of Sequoia, as I graduated in Seattle. But, after attending schools in RWC all the other years I have plenty of memories of friends and places and teachers, etc.! I feel privileged to be able to take part in the reunion with you all, and, Lord willing, will be there in Oct.! Send Liz/Betti a MessageSend Liz/Betti a Message

Really looking forward to seeing everyone! As for me, SJS then to Navy(helped steer the USS Ranger around the South China Sea!), then to Hewlett-Packard, then to consulting, then to retirement! Along the way, 12 years on the Cupertino School Board.  Married Carol in '65, two daughters, now two granddaughters.  Moved to Gualala on the NorCal coast in 2006.  Have some art in local galleries (check out my website), and still playing softball -- sometimes against Pete Savoia's Lincoln Hills team!

"Now" photo is not beautiful downtown Gualala! It was taken in Corsica when we went with friends on a Med cruise last year.

Oh, the "Then" picture?  One of my early visits to the Sequoia campus, circa 1943 or so.  My mom and dad used to take me for Sunday walks around the campus -- apparently after visiting a local creamery!

I lived in RWC until 1974, then moved to Santa Rosa, CA until 1976, then to Texas until 1988. I moved back to RWC until 1994, then to Fremont where we still live. We are preparing our home here for sale and are going back to Texas for retirement. Send Shirlie a MessageSend Shirlie a Message

January 25, 1942 Genealogist genealogist4hire.com Divorced 2

I retired from City of Cupertino Parks and Recreation Department in 1992 and moved to Paradise in 1996.  My mom passed away in 2005 but my 95-year old dad is still going strong.

I volunteer with TOPcats (a spay/neuter organization here in Paradise) as well as with several genealogy societies all over the world.  (The internet is amazing!)

After many years of doing genealogy, my own, and as a volunteer, I've established a website to generate some business.  Check it out, and if you're interested in genealogy, look for my raffle prize at the reunion.

My son, Rich, lives in Long Beach and is involved in the film industry.  My daughter, Tracy, lives in Illinois and has founded a spay/neuter non-profit organization (www.operationsafe.org).  I have no grandchildren, but plenty of grandpets!

Looking forward to the reunion!

July 18, 1941 Retired Married 2
What fun memories we have been able to share as we have been remembering our high school years together over the last year.  I am so thankful I met Jim Conway as a sophomore (Carol Conway Vogl's brother).  Jim and I went together for six fun years, double-dating with friends.  We got married July 7, 1962.  We had two beautiful children, Beth and Steve.  They are the joy of our lives ... now 44 and 46 years.  Steve has one son, Kyle, who will be 16 this month, and Beth is expecting a child in mid-November as a single woman after a successful embryo implant (she always wanted to be married and have children, but, since it never worked out, she has taken this route.)  We are excited to welcome this infant into our family.

I spent most of my years loving to be a wife and mom, but I was called to work at Peninsula Covenant Church as bookkeeper of the Church and Community Center in 1977.  After seven years, I became the Office Manager for the Community Center, which was also a great joy as I loved serving the people God would bring to this wholesome place ... so healthy an atmosphere for families and people from the community.  I love people, so it was wonderful to have friends from such a large part of the community ... friendships that have lasted for many years and are ongoing.  This was a place where I could share my faith and my love for people.

In 1970, we purchased a lovely piece of property in Emerald Hills when the price was right.  Jim, with the help of friends, built our home and we moved in October 1973.  It has been a great blessing to share as we have entertained friends many times.  We have a view across the Bay from the Oakland Coliseum to Mt. Hamilton.  We are always grateful to have a home in this location, and we have never tired of the view.

In early years, we were involved in Peppermint Patty League, Little League, Pop Warner, Babe Ruth with our children.  we have enjoyed camping, fishing, and, later, when Jim took up golf, I decided to do so to be with him.  As a result of our daughter's being a flight attendant for United Airlines for 10 years, Jim and I enjoyed a lot of traveling ... to see our daughter in Paris, France; and to other destinations ... Cancun, Puerta Villarta, British Columbia, Canadian Rockies, Five Eastern Canadian cities, and all over the United States.  We invested in a timeshare that allows us to get away together to lovely condos with golf courses we love all around.

Jim and I celebrated our 47th anniversary this past July 7.  We are truly grateful for our relationship together, our family, our faith in God that we share, and the love of the Lord Jesus in our lives, especially through God's people.  Though we are far from perfect people (we are fogiven people), we want to live a life of purpose to serve, honor and glorify our Lord.

We wish everyone in our Class of 1959 God's blessing!
